The Sweet Bay Magnolia is a flowering showpiece with an enormous ornamental appeal. It offers glistening dark green leaves with a silver underside that has a frosted appearance. This tree provides pure-white flowers in May after all chance of frost, and sporadically throughout the early summer as well. Sweet Bay Magnolia Tree is a joy to watch no matter what the time of year. Even when the flowers have faded and the fruit is not yet obvious, you'll be surprised by the captivating sight a simple breeze drifting through its leaves creates. The fruit is eaten by gray squirrels, white-footed mice, turkey, and quail as well as a variety of songbirds including vireos, towhees, Northern flicker, and blue jays.


Growth Rate: With a medium to fast growth rate, it increases a height of 1-2 feet per year.
Mature Size: This tree grows up to 15-25 feet in its maturity.
Soil Preference: It best grows in acidic, loamy, moist, rich, sandy, silty loam, well-drained, and wet soils.
