The Pin Oak is a pyramidal shaped giant tree that provides an awesome shade to any landscape. The Pin Oak tree in autumn works so beautifully as an accent for harvest season. The outstanding color lasts for nearly a month. After fall color, the Pin Oaks leaves will persist on the tree often through winter unless blown off by heavy winter storms. Like all Oaks, the bark is particularly attractive. Pin oak acorns are eaten by many songbirds, wild turkeys, white-tailed deer, squirrels and smaller rodents but are a particularly important food for many ducks.

 

Growth Rate: With a fast growth rate it increase more than 2 feet per year.
Mature Size: The pin oak grows to a height of 60–70 feet.
Soil Preference: The pin oak grows best in acidic, loamy, moist, rich, sandy, well-drained, wet and clay soils.
